| Description: | Context: Water resources management and environmental stability and sustainability in Negros Occidental and Agusan del Sur Provinces, Philippines. The project's main objectives are : To provide a suitable and relatively rapid situational analysis of the geomorpho-pedological and hydro-geological context of the watersheds affecting the Agusan Marsh and affected by the Northen Negros Forest Reserve, and to initiate a strategy of monitoring, To facilitate the development of co-management strategies involving the various stakeholders in the areas, particularly the marginalized communities, To classify Satellite images for the two target sites to feed into a Geographical Information System (GIS) based analysis of land use patterns and the social dynamics affecting them, To understand the Ecosystem of the watershed and build up a GIS-based system of reference for replication. also: http://www.fundp.ac.be/recherche/projets/en/05276003.html |
