Investigation for key breeding constraints for banana and plantain improvement. Providing research opportunities for undergraduate, graduate and post graduate fellows. Maintain the breeding capability for plantains in West Africa and bananas in East Africa Evaluate and deliver varieties of plantains and bananas with high post-harvest processing value and resistance to diseases and pests. Strengthen the research capability of national programmes through collaborative research and provide research opportunities for degree-oriented training. |
