| Description: | The overall goal of the project is to demonstrate the potential pathways out of rural poverty in forested landscapes, through the adoption of more informed strategies and implementation procedures. The specific objectives: To understand the nature and incidence of poverty in forested landscapes, including local perceptions of poverty To pinpoint promising strategies to alleviate poverty in forested landscapes in the case study countries, and to draw broader conclusions about how PRSPs and NEPAD should deal with poverty in forested landscapes. To identify novel ways of implementing national strategies and ensuring that local people have ownership of the process. |
