| Description: | This new program is to direct the scientific interest on the 'new' states, which developed after the fall of the Soviet Union at the south border of the Russian federation. In a 'two-column program' the Volkswagen donation offers a set of supporting measures. The first column serves the stabilization of the interest of research and the research capacity for this region in Germany, which is to strengthen second the research in the region. Further measures such as symposiums, summer schools and language courses are to form a kommunikative bridge, which serves the contact and the cross-linking of the scientists and scientist inside. The program is to address both nature and engineering sciences and spirit and society sciences. |
