| Description: | The ‘International Courses’ programme (ICP’s) finances training programmes organised by one or more Flemish universities in Flanders. The subjects are geared specifically to the problems of developing countries, and their primary target group is students from these developing countries. However, the courses are also open to students from other countries. International courses run for at least one academic year and ideally result in the (Dutch) title of ‘Master na Master’ (Master after Master). International Courses aim to provide training to managers from the South, the ultimate objective being for them to apply or transfer this knowledge within their country of origin. For the time being the programme has been determined for 12 ICP’s through until 2007, as a result of which no new ICP’s can be included in the offer. As well as financing the organisational costs of the Flemish university, VLIR also makes scholarships available to students from developing countries. |
