| Description: | Established in 1991 to help revitalise civil society in Central and Eastern Europe and the Newly Independent States (NIS) through the funding of skill sharing partnership projects between British NGOs and organisations of the regions. During this time it has financed 2,500 projects for over 3 million pounds. Finances environmental NGOs whose aim is capacity building and thus having positive effects on civil society. There are three programmes (the General Programme, Partnership Development Grants and Global Grants) and all three offer small grants (less than 15,000 pounds) for skill sharing partnerships between NGOs. They also provide a number of longer term capacity building and intensive training programmes, which provide training and micro grants to local groups and associations in particular regions. |
