Name (native language): Einzelförderung im Normalverfahren (Sb)
Initiating organisation
German Research Council (DFG)
Description: Individual Grants / Research Grants: Research grants offered in the individual grants programme are the central form of the research funding provided by the DFG. A research grant can be used to fund staff, scientific instrumentation, consumables, travel as well as most of the other financial requirements of a research project. The DFG requires the institution at which the project will be carried out to supply the necessary core support and resources.

Sabbaticals: Sabbaticals are funded by the DFG to provide university teachers with specific opportunities to concentrate on their research.

Short Courses and Summer Courses: The DFG awards travel and maintenance allowances and, where necessary, covers course fees for attending scientific or technical short courses or academic summer courses in Germany and abroad.
The DFG also organises and finances short courses and summer courses to introduce novel research methods from abroad and to provide younger scientists and researchers working in Germany with a theoretical and practical approach to current research topics.
