Initiating organisation
Rothamsted International
Description: The scheme was initiated in 1993 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the founding of Rothamsted Research, which is the World's oldest agricultural research station.

The Fellowship scheme is managed by Rothamsted International and enables scientists from developing and less developed countries to carry out research projects for 6 to 12 months in collaboration with partner scientists at Rothamsted Research.

Since 1993, we have had over 100 scientists from 27 countries who have benefited from RIFS. In many cases, collaboration and contact has been maintained for further research projects and for joint publications in peer-reviewed science journals.

Currently, we have particularly strong institutional links with Cuba, India, Kenya and China.
