| Description: | Since the 1980s the Trustees have supported a small number of targeted poverty alleviation programmes in selected African countries. The themes are support for small-scale enterprise in East Africa and Cameroon, the enhancement of education in South Africa, and the search for sustainable agricultural development in eastern, western and southern Africa. In all three themes the Trustees seek to work through long-term relationships with organisations offering capacity to develop and deliver high-quality projects. In the case of small-scale enterprise support, four local micro-finance trusts have been established. |
