| Description: | The FGEF is a bilateral fund which was set up in 1994 by the French government following the Rio Summit. Its aim is to promote protection of the global environment in developing and transitional countries. The Fonds Français pour l’Environnement Mondial - French world environment fund -(FFEM), jointly funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the French development agency (AFD), supports a pilot research and development programme which concerns sites on several continents. It is implemented by French research organisations in partnership with teams from the southern hemisphere and CGIAR centres, the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research. |
