| Description: | By pooling the expertise of the three departments, this three year Doctoral Program enables the students to take advantage of ZEFs exceptional strength in interdisciplinary development research and cooperation with national and international institutions. The programme offers doctoral degrees of a top academic standard for young scientists engaged in political and social science, economics, agriculture, geography, ecology and management of natural resources. As a rule, the empirical research of the doctoral thesis has to be conducted abroad, e.g. in developing countries or in association with an international organization or national institution with a high reputation. The doctoral candidates must participate in a course program, generally prior to the research phase. The instruction is exclusively in English language and the doctoral thesis has to be written in English. |
