| Description: | CABI Africa Regional Centre supports CABI's activities in Africa, where the development challenges are tougher than anywhere in the world. But national capacity to address the issues is growing. There is no place for international organisations that stifle such growth. Accordingly, CABI's role is to support and supplement, drawing on its global experience, and sometimes where there is a need, to take the lead in developing new opportunities and technologies. CABI-ARC focuses its activities on six themes that impact on the livelihoods of the rural poor in Africa. * Rural knowledge systems * Smallholder commodity chains * Sustainable pest management * Alien invasive species * Conservation and utilisation of biodiversity * Information and communication technologies The six themes are linked and overlapping, forming a cohesive body of work. |
