| Description: | The RMCA has a unique taxonomically arranged collection of fauna that is of the greatest importance in documenting local biodiversity. In order to make the information on biodiversity contained in these collections available to their countries of origin, the ABIC was set up. The centre was created after Belgium's signing of the International Convention on Biological Diversity. The objectives of this initiative include : the promoting, organizing and providing of information about biodiversity. providing assistance to developing countries, helping them in the inventory and long-term management of their biodiversity. To this end, the centre organizes individual research training courses for African researchers. providing biodiversity databases, information about collections via the internet, and a user-friendly interface for data input and on-line consultation.
