| Description: | ABRII is one of the national agricultural research institutes under the supervision of Agricultural Research and Extension Organization (AREO). ABRII was established in 1983 as the Plant Biotechnology Department of Seed and Plant Improvement Institute (SPII). It has recently been upgraded to the level of an independent institute. ABRII offers research activities in the field of advanced plant molecular biology and biotechnology. ABRII has six research departments comprising, Genomics; Tissue Culture & Gene Transformation; Genetics, Cellularand Molecular Biology; Biosafety, Gene bank and Microorganisms; Plant Physiology, Biochemistry andProteomics; and Technical Services and Research Support. |
