| Description: | The Project Leader will lead and manage a significant new 15-month project to apply risk-based approaches to the targeting of active, community-focused surveillance for avian influenza. The project will be implemented through a multi-partner collaboration of national veterinary services, development partners, and international organizations and will have as its key components: a) assessment of current animal health surveillance systems for avian influenza, identification of critical short-term training needs, and the development with stakeholders of a surveillance training plan that takes advantage of innovative active methods such as participatory disease surveillance |
